If you’re planning a tipi wedding at Deene Park, or anywhere else for that matter, maybe you’ll find some ideas in this editorial shoot. It’s full of chilled but classically elegant ideas that would look right at home in the hills of Tuscany.

Lakeside love

Any flies on the tipi walls, would have been in no doubt as to which country we were in for this shoot.

Actual quotes:

“Today is not a pencil skirt and tights day.”

“I’m going to look more like a dog walker than a hairstylist.”

“Even my Hunters are leaking.”

Yep, good ol’ England and her merry weather!

But in the spirit of gratitude, I got to experience Deene Park in all four seasons. Which is handy ahead of my upcoming wedding bookings there!

We had the joy of galeforce winds, the most painful hail, and biblical rain. But we’re hardy English wedding folk, so after discussing the weather as if it’s never been bad before, we got on with it. And as it turned out, it made the glorious golden hour and stunning sunset all the more delightful. Every cloud…

Shooting around the house and gardens was a dream. So much inspiration and so many great backgrounds. This was my first time shooting there and it’s going to be a while before I run out of new places to use. There are some iconic spots – like the bridge, the lake, and the courtyard – but there’s so much more and there’ll always be something different for everyone.

And then there’s the lakeside tipi. A tipi is a perfect place to shelter from the elements but a lovely location in its own right. And on the water’s edge too. We were shooting in the winter and before the grass was laid, so it was kinda muddy (hence no exterior photos!) but this is now a spectacular spot to pitch a tipi.

And inside? Talk about transporting yourself somewhere else. We went to Tuscany – and had a top time shooting amongst lemon trees, drooling over a crostini grazing station with olives, cheeses, rustic bread, and dipping oils, resisting lemon-infused desserts, ogling an Italian tile-inspired cake, heart-eyesing (I’m declaring this a verb) over stationery with hand-drawn olive sprigs … and so it went on.

I’ll shut the lovestruck up and let you see the highlights for yourself …

But here’s the thing:

You need more than an incredible photographer to get wedding photos you love (though that helps!). You also need a day that’s totally you - the kind that makes your heart happy and infuses your photos with nothing but happy memories. That’s why I offer a holistic, thoughtful service to help you set the tone for photos that are as meaningful as they are beautiful.

I hope this post was exactly what you needed.

If you tumbled down the Google rabbit hole and are wondering who I am or how you ended up here, let me introduce myself...

I’m Sarah Vivienne, a relaxed wedding photographer based in Northamptonshire (but I happily roam the UK for a good love story). I work with big-hearted couples who are planning countryside celebrations - where connection, not perfection, is the star of the show.

With nearly 20 years’ experience under my camera strap, I know a wedding isn’t about the photos. It’s about a day where you’re so immersed in the moment you forget the camera’s even there. My job? To bottle up all the timeless natural magic, so you can relive it forever.

Oh hey! Thanks for stopping by.
