“Suppliers weren’t interested when we said we didn’t have a date yet. They only wanted to book us, not help us, but Sarah really cares and you never feel like you’re just another job.”
…And the first decisions you make - like your wedding day vision, your venue, and your photographer - will determine how much you love your photos. But not in the ways you might think.
So I’ve created this corner to share the kind of honest information and advice you might hope to get from a good friend - who also happens to be an experienced wedding photographer.
Everything here is free. Please, help yourselves!
Do you wish the million questions you don’t have answers to yet would stop racing round your head at 3am? Do you wish suppliers would tell you what you really need to know so you don’t have to guess for yourselves? Do you wish you had more encouragement and fewer opinions?
Well, your karma collection must be high… because your wish just came true!
Take a minute. Breathe. This is a place where you can chill, be yourself, and feel supported while you find your feet.
I’ve been to hundreds of weddings. Here’s what I've learned:
Take what you need, ignore the rest, come back anytime.
These editorial shoots were literally styled to be stolen! So if you fall in love with a tablescape, covet a bouquet, or hanker after the stationery, please steal with glee.

Here are the things your wedding venue (probably) won’t tell you but you might want to know and consider from a photography perspective.

These are the venues that continually leave a mark on my heart. Some in Northamptonshire, some further afield, one right on your doorstep. But the things they have in common? They’re elegant but relaxed, pair well with timeless and organic wedding photography … and not a cookie cutter wedding in sight.
Somewhere in Northamptonshire
Somewhere further afield
Somewhere dog-friendly
Looking for a wedding venue that’s truly dog-friendly? These are the rarest-of-rare places I’ve come across where dogs are treated like any other guest - with none of the usual ‘outside only and just for photos’ rules.
There’s no venue more unique than the one quite literally on your doorstep.
There’s so much freedom to do things your way. It’ll be like a relaxed weekend garden party - but even better because it’s your wedding. And already filled with so many stories, it’s the obvious place to make wedding memories.
But whilst sentimental, a wedding at home is quite the undertaking. And it’s not just the power, parking, and portaloos … alfresco locations bring their own photography challenges too. But you don’t have to navigate this alone; I’ve written a guide packed with info and inspo just for you.
Somewhere only we know
