Bride and groom walking in the rain at Kelmarsh Hall

Kerry and James had an autumn wedding at Kelmarsh Hall in Northamptonshire; with both their ceremony and reception held there. The thing that struck me most when looking back at their photos, is how in love they look and how happy they were to simply be together. It fills me up to be able to capture my couples looking totally relaxed and wearing their hearts on their sleeves with such pride #allthehearteyes #frommeandthem

The flowers lit my face up too! Oh my days, such beautiful flowers. Tracey at Once Upon A Time Flowers created the most perfect bouquets, button-holes, and arrangements with a cultivated but unconstrained feeling to match the venue’s gardens. Packed with foliage, lots of flower varieties, and colour, they were quite the talking point and I still lust after them now.

James’ day started with drinks at The Stag in Maidwell, which my second photographer covered. Meanwhile, I captured Kerry getting ready at Church Farm Lodge. Then it was off to Kelmarsh Hall for the rest of the day. With the exception of a few group photos and some pictures of James and Kerry in the gardens, we photographed the day in our usual documentary style and relaxed, hands-off manner.

I’m a sucker for details too and it was a delight to capture everything that James and Kerry chose to personalise their day. I especially loved how they included their shared passion for wildlife through their animal table names and packets of flower seeds for favours. Not to mention the little bear who took his seat for dinner – and ended up drunk on whisky chasers!

James and Kerry’s only request was for some pictures of the two of them in the walled garden. But as the day drew near and we checked the forecast daily, rain looked certain. So imagine our delight when the rain stopped literally just long enough to get some portraits amongst the dahlias!

In James & Kerry’s words…

“We knew we wanted Sarah to be our wedding photographer before we even found our venue. Her pictures are stunning. She took some amazing candid pictures of our guests and of us. She really put us at ease. We love everything Sarah has done and we are so grateful to her for capturing our wedding and we can’t recommend her highly enough.”

But here’s the thing:

You need more than an incredible photographer to get wedding photos you love (though that helps!). You also need a day that’s totally you - the kind that makes your heart happy and infuses your photos with nothing but happy memories. That’s why I offer a holistic, thoughtful service to help you set the tone for photos that are as meaningful as they are beautiful.

Sound like your cuppa? Pop the kettle on and explore my little corner of the internet.

I hope this post was exactly what you needed.

If you tumbled down the Google rabbit hole and are wondering who I am or how you ended up here, let me introduce myself...

I’m Sarah Vivienne, a relaxed wedding photographer based in Northamptonshire (but I happily roam the UK for a good love story). I work with big-hearted couples who are planning countryside celebrations - where connection, not perfection, is the star of the show.

With nearly 20 years’ experience under my camera strap, I know a wedding isn’t about the photos. It’s about a day where you’re so immersed in the moment you forget the camera’s even there. My job? To bottle up all the timeless natural magic, so you can relive it forever.

Oh hey! Thanks for stopping by.
