Grab your pen and put The Walled Garden at Deene Park (which is near Corby in Northants) at the very top of your list!

The walled garden was originally built as a kitchen garden for the house. But it now conceals* stunning striped lawns, a semi-permanent wedding marquee, and ‘The Garden Pavillion’ which is licensed for civil ceremonies.

*I say ‘conceals’ because it’s in a stunning secluded spot, tucked away to the side of the main house. It sits behind the flower borders, just beyond The White Garden. (Yes, there are many gardens at Deene Park!) And all you can see of the walled garden as you walk past is the historic red brick wall – except for a tiny treat of a peek through a cute Chinese gate with a seahorse emblem. (History can be so random!) So it’s luxuriously private, but close to all the iconic Deene locations – like the bridge, lake, and rose garden – for pictures of the two of you.

Licensed to knock ’em dead civil ceremony venue

Well, this beauty has a license for outdoor civil wedding ceremonies and is available between April and September.

It was purpose-built with outdoor wedding ceremonies in mind, but looks right at home in its historic and natural setting. So well designed. And it’s flanked by a pair of ‘wedding cake trees’ flank either side – so-called because the branches grow in horizontal tiers. Sweet!

Every detail and dilemma is taken care of

I adore how neutral the pavilion is. And I love the texture of the panelled backdrop, stately columns, and romantic balustrades. These fab features make the pavilion stunning in its own right. So when it comes to wedding styling and decor, you could leave it just as it is. Or then again, you could really go OTT! I can imagine it English country garden style, with whimsical wildflowers growing over the roof, tumbling down the sides, and looking like they just happened to grow there. Or you could transport yourself to The Med with lemon trees, olive branches, and rows of terracotta pots of agapanthus. So much potential.

And all the things are under control. There are hooks in place to fix flowers and hang drapes. And a covered option in case of rain.

Is this or is this not the best outdoor wedding venue in Northamptonshire?!

Now, what happens after your outdoor ceremony?

Whatever you want, really! One option is a drinks reception in the gardens and then dinner and dancing in Deene Park’s own marquee. Which is also in the walled garden. Handy. It’s a blank canvas that you can style as you wish. Here it is styled with beautiful Wedgewood blue for autumn.

But here’s the thing:

You need more than an incredible photographer to get wedding photos you love (though that helps!). You also need a day that’s totally you - the kind that makes your heart happy and infuses your photos with nothing but happy memories. That’s why I offer a holistic, thoughtful service to help you set the tone for photos that are as meaningful as they are beautiful.

Sound like your cuppa? Pop the kettle on and explore my little corner of the internet.

I hope this post was exactly what you needed.

If you tumbled down the Google rabbit hole and are wondering who I am or how you ended up here, let me introduce myself...

I’m Sarah Vivienne, a relaxed wedding photographer based in Northamptonshire (but I happily roam the UK for a good love story). I work with big-hearted couples who are planning countryside celebrations - where connection, not perfection, is the star of the show.

With nearly 20 years’ experience under my camera strap, I know a wedding isn’t about the photos. It’s about a day where you’re so immersed in the moment you forget the camera’s even there. My job? To bottle up all the timeless natural magic, so you can relive it forever.

Oh hey! Thanks for stopping by.
