Northampton wedding photographer Sarah Vivienne photographed Richard & Joanne’s vintage styled October wedding at Fawsley Hall, Northamptonshire

Richard & Joanne

Wedding photography

Richard and Joanne picked the fabulous Fawsley Hall for their wedding, which is one of my favourite places for wedding photography.

My day started with Jo getting ready in the bridal suite. My first glimpse at their vintage inspiration for the day was Jo’s glamorous 1930s-style silk dress from Belle and Bunty. Effortlessly elegant.

Richard and Jo’s brief to me was for largely documentary wedding photography, with a sense of place and the season, and pictures of all the details and decor, as well as their guests. Totally my cup of Earl Grey!

The ceremony took place in Knightley Court.

A mix of angles, perspectives, and content to capture the essence of Richard and Joanne’s drinks reception…

A few minutes in the Knot Garden to create some portraits …

I love the main front entrance of Fawsley Hall for group photos. I just wish Fawsley would move the urn of geraniums on the left so it’s symmetrical with the one on the right!

As an alternative to a guest signature book, Richard and Joanne provided cards for people to peg up their advice for a happy marriage.

Richard and Joanne put a lot of thought into how their guests would enjoy the day. So it was lovely to return from the group photos to see everyone who wasn’t involved enjoying games of scrabble, guess who, and Jenga.

Even the basket for cards was beautifully presented. Guests really seem to enjoy things like this. The photos of Richard & Joanne’s parents on their wedding days attracted lots of smiles.

The table plan was based on a map of the UK. And the table names are places close to Richard and Joanne’s hearts.

The Dining Hall looked amazing too. I messaged Anna at Julie Anna Flowers at the end of the day to ask her not to do such a beautiful job next time we have a wedding together. With her work plus Joanne’s handiwork, I had to work at lightning speed to do the details justice!

Are you planning a wedding at Fawsley Hall?

If that’s a yes, you’re going to have the best day ever! It’s such a great venue!

Stick around for a bit and check out why I think Fawsley Hall is amazing for wedding photography. You’ll find links to some of the other weddings I’ve shot at Fawsley on that page too.

And if all that makes you smile from ear to ear, give me a shout!

But here’s the thing:

You need more than an incredible photographer to get wedding photos you love (though that helps!). You also need a day that’s totally you - the kind that makes your heart happy and infuses your photos with nothing but happy memories. That’s why I offer a holistic, thoughtful service to help you set the tone for photos that are as meaningful as they are beautiful.

Sound like your cuppa? Pop the kettle on and explore my little corner of the internet.

I hope this post was exactly what you needed.

If you tumbled down the Google rabbit hole and are wondering who I am or how you ended up here, let me introduce myself...

I’m Sarah Vivienne, a relaxed wedding photographer based in Northamptonshire (but I happily roam the UK for a good love story). I work with big-hearted couples who are planning countryside celebrations - where connection, not perfection, is the star of the show.

With nearly 20 years’ experience under my camera strap, I know a wedding isn’t about the photos. It’s about a day where you’re so immersed in the moment you forget the camera’s even there. My job? To bottle up all the timeless natural magic, so you can relive it forever.

Oh hey! Thanks for stopping by.
